Regional networks

The ENIC and NARIC networks connect all dedicated national offices of countries belonging to the Lisbon Convention. The main purpose of the office and their network is to gather, create, and disseminate authoritative information on various (if not all) countries in the world, regarding the academic institutions that are accredited in a given country and recognition practices related to studies, qualifications, and academic degrees. Depending on each country’s legislation, some ENIC centers usually act as consultants, whereas others can also have decision-making powers in matters related to academic recognition.

On this point, it is worth mentioning that under the Bangkok/Tokyo Convention, the network of National Information Centers (NICs) was established to include all countries that have ratified the above-mentioned Convention. This network is called “APNNIC”, and it is an information network similar to ENIC-NARIC.
